Mountain Collective in California
Prices and access checked August 29, 2026 directly against each pass operator’s own site.
Mountain Collective costs $699 and covers exactly one California resort: Sugar Bowl, at two days with no blackout dates. The other 26 destinations are elsewhere — Jackson Hole, Alta, Snowbird, Banff, Chamonix and so on.
This is a travel pass that happens to include a California mountain, not a California pass. If most of your skiing happens in this state, it is the wrong buy — but if you take two or three destination trips a season, nothing else prices those trips as well.
What it covers in California
Sugar Bowl
Norden, on Donner Summit directly off I-80 — the shortest Tahoe-area drive from the Bay Area. 1,650 acres, 1,500 feet of vertical, and it catches more snow than any other Tahoe resort.
Access: 2 days, no blackout dates, then 50% off additional days.
Sugar Bowl is also independent of both Ikon and Epic, which makes Mountain Collective the only multi-resort pass that reaches it at all.

Price and structure
| Tier | Price |
|---|---|
| Adult | $699 |
| Teen | $554 |
| Child | $274 |
The structure is unusual and worth understanding: rather than unlimited access anywhere, you get two days at each of 27 destinations — 54 days in theory — with no blackouts, and half price on any day beyond the two. Whiteface is new for 2026-27.

Buy it as a second pass, not a first
The people who get real value from Mountain Collective in California usually already hold a local season pass, and use MC for two or three trips out of state. As a standalone California pass it is poor value; as a travel pass it is among the best.
Mountain Collective — frequently asked questions
Which California resorts are on the Mountain Collective?
One: Sugar Bowl, on Donner Summit off I-80. You get two days with no blackout dates, plus 50% off any additional days. Sugar Bowl is the only California member.
How much is the Mountain Collective pass?
$699 for adults, $554 for teens and $274 for children, checked August 29, 2026. That buys two days at each of 27 destinations worldwide, with no blackout dates anywhere.
Is the Mountain Collective worth it for a Californian?
Only if you travel to ski. With one California resort, it cannot be your home-mountain pass. It makes sense as a trip pass — two days each at Jackson Hole, Alta, Snowbird, Banff and the rest — with Sugar Bowl as a bonus on the way to Tahoe. If you ski mostly in California, Ikon or the Cali Pass will serve you far better.
Does Mountain Collective have blackout dates?
No. That is its main structural advantage over Ikon Base, Epic Local and the Cali Pass, all of which black out the Christmas and Presidents' Day windows. Your two days at each resort are good any day of the season.
Mountain Collective or Ikon for California skiing?
Ikon, comfortably, if you are skiing California. Ikon covers six California resorts unlimited against Mountain Collective's single resort at two days. The comparison only tilts the other way if most of your season happens outside the state.
